Let the Thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he might have something to share with anyone in need. Ephesians 4:28
You Shall not steal. Exodus 20:15
Southern Baptist discernment minister, stand up comic, radio personality, professional musician and biblical apologist for Apprising Ministries, Ken Silva seems to be a bit confused about the Bible. Silva admits in his belief section that “the Bible in its entirety is to be the sole and final authority in all matters of belief and practice for Christians of every culture and age.”
So, why is he having such a problem following it? On one page alone there could be counted at least two graphics for his posts which are Copyrighted material from other sites. One is from the student page of the Lexington Examinar. All the other graphics he uses are not linked to their original source, could they have been lifted for his teaching ministry? Why would a minister who is so careful about checking that other people’s faith is biblically correct lift content from other’s work? At the end of each blog he attributes his sources for the content of his articles, why not the graphics? Is that one of the beliefs and practices that is not as important to Rev. Silva? I wonder what the Lexington Herald www.nieconnects.com and the Minneapolis Star Tribune would think about someone using their content for this type of ministry purpose? Using them in on a site that solicits money? Some would say that such a clear breaking of copyright law is inconsistent with the Bible. I wonder why Ken doesn’t seem to think it is wrong?
I apologize if Ken has paid to use these images, but since they are not attributed and in the case of the cartoon the artist’s name is cropped off completely I have sincere doubts. If you have not paid the fees for copyrighted material Ken Silva I would suggest that you start going through your blog and taking down every image you have lifted from a website without their permission. It is the right thing to do Ken and it is Biblical.
Update: Ken has changed the two graphics shown above. One however that says “Twofaced” looks like the print on a poster from that has George W. Bush’s face on it. It appears that the only graphics that have changed are the two pointed out above.
2 Corinthians 2:17
Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the
contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from
God
